By accessing or using Batch Calculator at batchcalculator.com (the “Site”) you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Who we are

Batch Calculator is a free, browser-based collection of calculators and reference guides for small-batch makers — candles, soap, bath bombs, perfume and resin. “We”, “us” and “our” mean the operator of the Site.

2. Use of the Site

The calculators and content are provided for informational and educational purposes. You may use the tools freely, including for products you go on to sell — we do not claim a share of anything you make.

You agree not to:

  • scrape, copy or republish the Site’s calculators, code or content without permission
  • use the Site in any way that breaks the law
  • attempt to interfere with or disrupt how the Site runs

3. Accuracy of calculations

We take care to get the formulas right, but a result is only ever as good as what you put in and what is actually in your materials. Saponification values vary by supplier and by batch. Wax densities vary. Fragrance and pigment loads depend on the specific material in front of you.

Results from these tools are estimates based on standard formulas and stated assumptions. They are not guarantees of outcome, and they are not a substitute for the documentation supplied with your materials.

Always weigh, always test a small batch first, and always check the figure against the supplier’s own data before committing a full batch.

4. Safety — read this one

Several of the crafts covered here involve hazardous materials.

  • Sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide are caustic. They cause chemical burns and permanent eye injury. They must be handled with appropriate protection and never by children.
  • Molten wax burns and is a fire risk.
  • Fragrance oils, essential oils and solvents have skin-safety limits, flashpoints and, in many jurisdictions, legal restrictions on what may be sold and how it must be labelled.

A calculator on this Site tells you what a ratio works out to arithmetically. It does not assess whether that ratio is safe for skin, safe for your materials, or legal to sell where you live. It is not a substitute for a safety data sheet, a supplier’s maximum usage rate, an IFRA certificate, or a cosmetic safety assessment where your jurisdiction requires one.

You are responsible for the safety, testing, labelling and legal compliance of anything you make. We accept no responsibility for injury, damage, spoiled batches or regulatory problems arising from use of these tools.

5. Not professional advice

Nothing on this Site is regulatory, legal, medical or cosmetic-safety advice. If you are selling what you make, the rules that apply to you depend on where you are and what you are selling, and you should take advice from someone qualified in your jurisdiction.

Some pages contain affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. These commissions help keep the Site free. Affiliate relationships never influence a calculation or a recommendation — see the affiliate disclosure.

7. Email list and downloads

Some pages offer a printable in exchange for an email address. Subscribing is optional, never required to use a calculator, and you can unsubscribe from any email we send. See the Privacy Policy.

8. Printables and the shop

Printables are sold and delivered by third-party marketplaces (such as Etsy or Gumroad), not by this Site. Payment, delivery, refunds and their own terms are handled entirely by the marketplace you buy from. A printable is licensed for your own use in your own making and selling; it may not be resold or redistributed as a file.

9. Intellectual property

The original content on this Site — calculator logic, written guides, design — belongs to us or our contributors. You may not reproduce or distribute it commercially without written permission. The numbers themselves are facts, and we claim nothing over them.

10. Third-party services

The Site uses third-party services for hosting, forms, storage and analytics. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies. The current list is in the Privacy Policy.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

The Site is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site or its tools. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Changes are noted by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page, and continued use after a change means you accept it.
